Multiple Graphics Cards (SLI) is here to stay

SLI and Crossfire is not the first systems in the PC history to allow multiple graphics card to work together with one image. Voodoo 2 that was launched in the middle of 90 gave support for up to 3 graphics card in a computer, one primary card (could be any graphics card) and up to two Voodoo 2 cards to boost the performance.

I remember that like today, they provided the ultimate gaming machine. And I believe it was a lot more expensive than it is now. Now you can build up a SLI system with almost any card in the Nvidia serie.

When we go towards greater resolutions on our monitors and the addiction to great graphics we can't ask one little graphics card to do all the hard work. This is why SLI is great, it might expenisve still great.

Playing games with 30" montitor at 2560x1600 and maximum graphics is not just great, it's unbeliveble and the closest thing you can come to reality today. Thanks to multiple 8800GTX, this is possible.

Too bad this is just a dream for me, both the SLI system and the 30" monitor :)
